	Uh, another ReadMe file.  As if there werenÕt already tons of Ôem around.  Every shareware author in the whole wide world has a message.  And theyÕre all  begging for your attention.  I admit freely: Same here.

	To prevent you from falling into a coma when reading these lines, I tried to make this document as easy to read as my English allows.  See it as an interview, ok?  YOU interview me, fb:i!, the ÒUnknown Shareware AuthorÓ.  I promise to do my best to tell you what you really want to know about the icons.  LetÕs start right away: 


Q: WhatÕs this ÒNEW iconsÓ hype about, anyway?  HavenÕt we seen it all before?

A:  Hopefully not.  I tried to come up with a new look for the Mac that adds some real  improvements
		 to its graphical user interface.  The purpose behind my icons is to enhance the interfaceÕs clarity
		 (thus the ÒheavyÓ outlines) as well as its aesthetic charms. Technology with a smile! 

		 This professionally crafted set provides more than 70 icons which can be used as

		 a) 	replacements for AppleÕs standard Finderª and System icons, and 
		 b) 	as custom Finder icons being copy-pasted in the usual way.

Q: ThereÕs gazillions of FREE icons out there. Why should I pay for these?

Q: Um - quite nice. But how can I put them into my MacÕs System?

A: ThereÕs two major ways of replacing AppleÕs standard icons:

		 a) The easy way:

					YouÕll need an icon replacement utility.  A wide range of them is available at
					Macintosh shareware archive sites on the Internet, via commercial online services
					and BBÕs, and via numerous shareware compilations on CD-ROM and floppy disks.

					I highly recommend  N. Jonas EnglundÕs shareware tool ÒIConArtistÓ: Just drag the file
					ÒIkonHo! HeavyLine System.rsrcÓ onto IConArtistÕs icon, select the icons you wish to replace
					and let the app do the rest.  ThereÕs even an ÒAuto RestartÓ option.  By the way: Your original
					System icons arenÕt lost Ð IConArtist stores them in a separate file on your desktop.


		 b) The MacManiacsÕ way:

					In case youÕre familiar with ResEditª, itÕs no big deal - you know what to do and 
					how to do it.  If youÕre not-so-familiar with it, please consult your ResEdit manual.
						I have carefully checked ID numbers and attributes of every single resource of my icons.
					But please keep in mind: I have taken all information from my own copies of the System 
					software (vD1-7.5) and the Finder (vD1-7.5.1).  Although pretty unlikely, their IDÕs 
					may differ from other versions - you never know É .  Take care.

		 System requirements: Apple¨ System software 7.0 or higher, 
		 																				  Color Quickdrawª recommended.

Q: Assuming that all this has kind of convinced me: How can I register?

A: ItÕs all very easy:  Distribution and use of IkonHo! icons is based on the average shareware agreement.
		 Feel free to use the included icons on a trial basis for up to 30 days.  If, after that period, you decide
		 to keep some or all of them, please

		 Register via snail mail:

		 Simply wrap the appropriate total (US $ 5, multiplied with the number of computers/ 
		 CPUs you have installed the icons on) in an opaque envelope. Please send either
		 ¥ US cash,
		 ¥ a similar amount in any European currency,
		 ¥ a eurocheque, 
		 ¥ or international money order.
		 Include a brief note saying ÒIkonHo! HeavyLine RegistrationÓ (donÕt forget to include your e-mail 		 
		 address or you wonÕt be able to receive the bonus set of 20 free IkonHo! ÒHeavyLineÓ icons!)
		 and send it to the address below (as always).  Thank you for registering!

		 The bonus set with the free icons will be e-mailed to you as soon as I have
		 received your registration (please allow a week or two for shipping).

Q: Ok, one more question: That silly name ÒIkonHo!Ó sounds like 
		a tramp selling her body for icons. What does it really mean?

A: Er, weell  É  not quite that.  The name ÒIkonHo!Ó was inspired by Bill WattersonÕs wonderful series
		 of comic strips ÒCalvin & HobbesÓ.  One of the earlier issues, in which the two braves prepare to 
		 emigrate to the banks of the Yukon River, was entitled ÒYukon Ho!Ó.  I  couldnÕt resist the pun and 
		 said ÒIkon Ho!, too!Ó.  ÒIkonHo!  Yukon Ho!  Everybody can Ho!Ó  (admittedly pretty silly).
